Northshore Restoration Project
The Project is in response to the Mendocino Complex Fire that burned 459,123 acres on the Mendocino National Forest in 2018. CLERC secured grant funds to support the Forest Service restoration strategy.
Clerc has completed 500 acres of roadside hazard tree removal
CLERC funded a Research paper titled “Informing Reforestation Strategy for the Mendocino National Forest: Integrating climate change into management planning of the Northshore Restoration Project” that was released in early 2023
CLERC will be Implementing work in 2024 on 700 acres of fuel reduction in unburned portions of the Clear Lake Watershed
Clerc is the planning Phase to work on 1065 acres of reforestation work including site prep, fuel reduction, removal of dead trees and planting 232,000 seedlings and follow up treatments to control unwanted/invasive plants
