Karen is a native Californian, born and raised in Lake County.  After a 35-year career in California school district finance administration, Karen retired and returned to her roots in Lower Lake where she and her husband Darrell manage the family ranch.  Both Karen and Darrell’s families have a long history of community involvement in Lake County centering around their love of the land and proud familial history in the area.  Karen’s family has farmed in Lower Lake since 1880; she is passionate about maintaining local heritage and respecting our vital and rich natural resources.
